Anti-Monorail Campaign Breaks Copyright
If you've seen the new anti-monorail campaign commercials (paid for with thousands of dollars from Martin Selig and WAMU), you'll see a family taking rides in a model of a monorail in a backyard. That video was improperly used without the permission of its owner: Kim Pedersen of The Monorail Society.
You would think that the anti-monorail campaign would be able to hire a few lawyers to help avoid their frequent blunders. The video is clearly marked on the site with a copyright, and any reasonable person would guess that a monorail supporter would not give implicit permission for the opponents to use his own video in a TV ad opposing the monorail.
Even putting politics and any legal issues aside, its generally just sleazy for a professional political campaign to broadcast video of a person's family on TV. Again this is typical of the extreme people the monorail is up against in November.
